Years ago, the Aermotor Windmill Company manufactured both 3- and 4-post towers. While 3-post towers are no longer produced, we still occasionally encounter them out in the field. This morning we were called out for an emergency repair at a farm near Joplin after a truck backed into the tower and bent one of the legs. Thankfully, this was a 4-post tower—the added structural stability likely prevented a complete tower failure. Had this been a 3-post design, the impact could have easily put the en
