I’ve always preferred combination movements that allow muscle actions to “flow”. This cable crunch / pushaway crushes the core both concentrically and eccentrically as well as the triceps. Note the form on the cable crunch! The hips DO NOT fold back as I crunch forward. They stay locked in place as I bent forward and flex from the spine. The abdominal muscles DO have a role in flexing the spine, which is why we still do crunches. BUT, I’d argue they play a much more important role in controlling and even preventing rotation - and sadly - we don’t train those functions enough! Here’s one of my “favorites”! | ATHLEAN-X
